day 5, painting with Q Tips

Here is my son in his craft shirt painting some pictures with blue, yellow and green paint.  We have been learning about colors lately and we were seeing how the yellow and the blue look just like the green out of the bottle when mixed.  The color concepts were a bit beyond him at this point but he used QTips to paint and he loved it.  I even gave him some gold glitter glue to sparkle his page a bit and it looked great!

day 4, learning colors in the bath

Day four of pinterest ideas.  Today. Red baths.  We've been working on learning colors this week so the bath tonight was a red themed fun.  I didn't get to talk about the red stuff as much as I would have liked because I was doing damage control with the kids fighting for all the bath toys.  Next time I will have them in there separately and when they aren't so tired.  You can tell that they were having fun though because they weren't even looking at me.

This is where the idea for the red bath came from although we did not dye the water.  Red Bath Fun

day 3, car activity pack 1

This is the first activity pack I made for my son for the car. He is learning about shapes, getting good at sorting them, and this week he has been learning about the color blue. I saw this simple shape sorter on a blog here:shape matching, from a pin which is here

This is ours.

Duh. The ridiculous pictures are because I took them with our nexus not the camera. I have some of it in action too but will have to get those later.

day 2: Halloween costume 2

This one I needed help with from my mom. She helped me negotiate the pattern and I made sure it was finished before our trip to visit her was done.

Unfortunately the hat and gloves were not finished before Halloween, but they are great in our dress up bin.

The first hat I made was too small for his head so we had a photo shoot with sis as well.

This was a polkadot PJ outfit we had that was cow-like. As you can see the hat barely lasted for a few pictures.

Day 1

Halloween costumes.

This was the beginning of the Halloween costume for my daughter.

I stuffed it with extra tulle once she was in it and she looked adorable.

Here is the finished product.

365 days of pinterest

I've been doing a lot of projects that I found on Pinterest lately.  I've done some neat things with the kids and some little craft and sewing projects here and there.  I was thinking of doing a blog project called 365 days of pinterest.  Obviously doing one project per day for a whole year is difficult.  But I am doing quite a few days worth of projects and then also how we use our projects on other days.  Some days I will be posting about things we come up with on our own and post for others to try.  All in all I am guessing that I will last about two weeks and then get tired of it like with most things.  But here goes nothing.

home again home again jiggity jig

My first post using our new Nexus 7. Can't wait to see the possibilities on this bad boy. It is a little bit hard to figure how to type on it. But it does give you likely word suggestions so I often don't have to type out the whole word. Will just take a little time to get used to.
In other news my son has started pushing my daughter. Everyone in our home is sick. We just returned from our trip to Wisconsin for my grandfather's funeral. My husband has gone back to work. We may be starting a home daycare.

Hmm... That is about all for now. Here are some goofy pictures taken with our tablet.
